Note: Although the stone clearly gives date of birth as 1825, an obituary in the NEW Washington Courier states that he was born on December 1, 1828. The 1828 date is probably correct since the following obituary states that he was in his 70th year.

"James Arbuckle, a well-known and much respected citizen, died at his home northwest of New Washington Sunday night after a brief illness, in his 70th year. He was buried by the Masonic order at the Fouts cemetery Tuesday. His wife survives." Note: His second wife was Sarah Jane Cook. They were married in Jefferson County, IN on 5 Oct 1892.
James L. Arbuckle was the son of Thomas Arbuckle and Sarah Jane Montgomery.
