He was born in Charleston on April 29, 1927, and was a son of the late Marean and Mary Arose. Mr. Arose was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Frances Miragliotta, and brothers, John and Junior Arose.
Sam was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Japan, with an honorable discharge as a third class musician. He graduated from WVU in 1953 with a mechanical engineering degree. Sam was a registered professional engineer and was originally employed at Minneapolis-Honeywell in Philadelphia. He worked for 27 years for True Temper and retired from E.I. DuPont in 1992. He was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club and the Catholic War Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn; five children, Sam Arose and wife, Jill, John Arose and wife, Libby, Harry Arose and wife, Vicki, Kim Keiffer and husband, Denny, and Pat Arose and wife, Cynthia; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Sam is also survived by two sisters, Carol Orlandi and Josephine Anania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
