Kenneth Ross Aldridge

Kenneth Ross Aldridge went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at his home in the town of West surrounded by his family. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home in Durant with interment in Brister Cemetery.

Mr. Aldridge was born on May 9, 1926 out from West. He was the son of the late Arthur Davis Aldridge and Maude E. Grantham Aldridge. At 17 he moved to Memphis, TN, eventually going to work for Memphis Light, Gas, & Water. On January 5, 1945, he married the former Billie Jo Geriner. After working 30 years and 24 days with MLG&W, working his way up to supervisor, Kenneth retired to his home town of West. Soon thereafter he went to work for Southern Funeral Home in Durant and retired after 20 years of service. He was a Master Mason for 59 years in the O.K. Houck Lodge, Memphis, a longtime Republican, and regular at Unity Baptist Church. Kenneth was also known for keeping one of the most beautiful yards in central Mississippi.

Surviving Kenneth is his wife of nearly 62 years, Billie Jo; his four children, Allidi Bogan and son-in-law Rob of Memphis, Celeste (Sissy) Butler and son-in-law Jim of Knoxville, TN, Aaron (Henry) Aldridge and daughter-in-law Sharon of Clinton, and S. Ross Aldridge of Brandon; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also, he is survived by one of his four siblings, Bonnie Butler of Germantown, TN.
