Obituary: John Curtis Altman, 83, of 2633 Liberty Ave., rear, died this morning at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Altman had lived in Ogden for 60 years and was a retired painting and paperhanging contractor.
On Sept. 24, 1894, he married Henrietta Priscilla Evans in Salt Lake City.
He was a member of the Order of Brotherhood Painters, Decorators, and Paperhangers of America. He was a member of the LDS church.
He was born April 2, 1871, in Waynesboro, Ga., a son of John Riley and Sarah Autry Altman.
Surviving are his widow, three sons, Frank C. and Dale E. Altman, Ogden; Merlin J. Altman, Monroe, Mich.; five daughters; Mrs. Fred (Lois) Reberg, Mrs. William (Ardell) Doherty, Ogden; Mrs. Gladys Halling, Geyserville, Calif.; Mrs. A. D. (Milbrey) Johnson, Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. John (Faye) Steadman, Butte, Mont.; 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two brothers; Clarence Altman and Andrew Altman, Los Angeles; two sisters: Mrs. Hettie Wright and Mrs. Liddie Hahn, Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be announced by Larkin Mortuary, 24th Street and Adams Ave.
