Dorothy M. "Dotti" Affleck went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2006. Dorothy was born in Oakland, California on January 12, 1926 to Walter and Hazel Williamson. She grew up in Oakland and then moved to San Lorenzo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Affleck, and son, Steven G. Affleck. Dorothy is survived by two children and their spouses, Pamela (Randy) Flanery and Gary (Kathy) Affleck; and her five grandchildren, Lindsay Affleck and Kevin Affleck, Brandon Flanery, Nathan Flanery, and Joshua Flanery. She is also survived by her sister and husband, Barbette (Morgan) Graves; two nieces, Janice Graves and Amy Doehne. She is further survived by relatives and friends who loved her and knew her as "Dotti". She moved to Colorado Springs in 2002 to be, in her own words, "in God's country" and be a member of New Life Church. Throughout her life in California she was known as "The Hostess with the Mostess" because of her gift of hospitality. She opened her home for Bible studies for many years where her Pastor would teach the Word with great fervency. Dotti loved to write and had several articles published in local newspapers. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed retelling jokes although she could never complete them because she laughed too much. People loved to tell her jokes because no matter how ridiculous they were, she always laughed. Her heart always went out to the needs of others and she compassionately encouraged those in need; lives were truly blessed because of her unconditional love for others. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her. A memorial service and burial will be in Hayward, CA.
