Obituary of James A. Goldsmith from Emporia Gazette, August 25, 1962--James A. Goldsmith Dead--Admire--James A. Goldsmith, a retired section foreman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, died Friday in the West Haven Rest Home in Osage City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Monday in the Admire Methodist Church, with burial in the Admire Cemetery. The Austin Funeral Home, Eskridge, is charge of the arrangements.

The son of James and Eunice M. Welch Goldsmith, James A. Goldsmith was born March 4, 1877, near Lyndon, and he was married to Elnora A. Campbell Nov. 27th, 1900, in Lyndon. He had been a resident of the Miller-Admire community for the past 50 years, and he was a member of the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died March 13th 1960, and by five brothers and three sisters, and he is survived by three sons, James, Valley Center; William, 920 Walnut St. Emporia, and Richard, Newton; five daughters, Mrs. Thomas Parks, Hoisington; Mrs. Walter Anslinger, Osage City; Mrs. Neil Haney, Topeka; Mrs. Charles Miller, Admire, and Mrs. Irene Moore of the home; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
