Longtime Groveland resident Elaine Jonelle Nickley died Sunday at a Modesto hospital after a long illness. She was 67.
She was born in Jamestown and was the fourth of seven children of the late John and Fayma Gray. After the loss of her parents, she looked after her younger siblings. Her first priority in her life was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Nickley; a daughter, Deanae Kraus, of Groveland; sons, Graden Kraus, of Sonora, and Greg Kraus, of Groveland; stepchildren, Randy Nickley, of Columbia, Sherry Nickley, of Jamestown, and their children, Mark, Randall and Moriah; granddaughters, Aimee Sudberry, Sadie and Alaina Smith, all of Groveland, and Ashley and Sarah Kraus, of Sonora; sisters and brothers-in-law.
