Theodore C. Madison, 78, Dassel, died May 25 at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital. Services were conducted May 29, from Gethsemane Luth, church, Dassel, with the Rev. Charles Humphrey officiating.
Myrna Kiel, a nice, was the soloist, and Mrs. Florine Osness was the organist. A congregational hymn "Abide With Me" was sung.
Pallbearers were Hilding Holmgren, Clifford Johnson, Gary Mortenson, Orvin Bollin, Eldor Palmer and Edgar Anderson. Interment was Arndahl Lutheran Cemetery, rural Grove City.
Theodore C. Madson was born June 10, 1903 at Litchfield, Minn. His parents were Mads and Annie Madson. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to the Rosendale area of Meeker County. He was baptized and confirmed at Arndahl Lutheran church. He attended school at Dist. 50.
He served for a year in the U.S. army receiving an Honorable discharge and returning home to help on the farm, following the death of a brother.
On Aug. 20, 1924 he was married to Meta Madsen, at the home of her step-parents in Litchfield township. They farmed in the Rosendale area, until 1943, when they moved to a farm north of Dassel. In 1979 they moved into the city of Dassel.
Survivors include his wife, Meta; a son, Milo, of rural Dassel; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Joann) Bollin of Santa Rosa, California; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Elfield R. Madson, St. Cloud; 2 sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Martin, Walter and Chester, 3 sisters, Mrs. Frank Johnson and two who died in infancy.
