Mrs. Mattie Ashley
GILLUM—Mrs. Mattie B. Ashley, 86, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital where she had been a patient since Nov. 1.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday the Stensel’s Funeral Home, Le Roy, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery, Downs.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Sept 30, 1886 at Glendean, Ky., a daughter of George and Catherine Peirce Willis. She was married to Luther Ashley in 1905 in Glendean, Ky. He died in December 1969.
Surviving are a son, Calvin, Lexington; two daughters, Mrs. Ted Foltz, Goodfield; Mrs. Jess Nevius, Kappa; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, two brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
