|Birth: ||Nov. 8, 1842|
|Death: ||Apr. 24, 1921|
Sam Dubroc was my grandmother's (Dora Dubroc Guillory) father, my mother's grandfather and my great-grandfather. His parents were Francois Dubroc and Marguerite Guillot Dubroc. He died when my grandmother was only a young girl. He was first married to Celeste Juneau and together they had five children. After his wife died, he then married my great- grandmother, Lea Bonnete Dubroc on Nov.24, 1896. She was a young woman when they married, there were 39 years difference between them. Together they had nine children (two sets of twins): Sampson Jr., Anderson and Andy (twins) Pauline, Beulah, Anita, Dora (my grandmother)and Doralize (twins) and Sybil.
The cemetary that my mother's family is in was donated by my great-grandfather and another family in the area. My great-grandparents are first in the front row, with my sister, Melissa Ann Ducote, at the end. She is buried next to my grandparents. No one is alone there, with all the aunts, uncles, cousins and my other great-grandparents buried there.
My family spoke only French, all from cajun french heritage. It wasn't until my parents' generation that they were taught English in school.
Please visit my grandparents also, Lonis and Dora Guillory.
