w/o Edward William Clark, md 18 Feb 1861 Whitley Co., Ky. & Isaac Anderson md 23 Sept 1869 Whitley Co., Ky. Isaac s/o Daniel & Rebecca Blakely Anderson, Jemima d/o John Wesley Peace & Eleanor Minerva Sullivan.
Following the death of her husband Edward, Apr. 1864, his father William Clark, was captured & murdered by Morgan's Raiders in Jun. 1864. Jemima took her young son, & returned to her family in Whitley Co., Ky. near Poplar Creek. Jemima applied for a Widow's Pension in Jun. of 1865. Her application was made in Whitley Co., Ky & was witnessed by Benjamin Reynolds & Elizabeth Pritchard. To support her claim, in 1867, Captain John C. Wilson, then a resident of Owsley Co., Ky. stated that he knew Edward before the war & served with him in the same unit, & that Edward had been well when he entered the Army. In 1874, Joseph Evans & A.J. Evans, both of Knox Co., Ky. claimed to have been personally acquainted with Edward & swore that Jemima had been his only wife, & that Henry was their son. Jemima married Isaac Anderson in Whitley Co., Ky. on 23 Sept 1869, in the presence of Nathan Larson & William H. Peace. Isaac died in 1878. During the 1880 Census, Jemima was a Widow. She was living in Whitley Co., Ky. with her children & was farming. She was living next door to her cousin, Joseph Peace & his family. Jemima died 23 Apr. 1883. She is buried in the Old Joseph Peace Graveyard at Siler, Whitley Co., Ky.
