He was born in Washington, D.C. January 29, 1930. the son of Mrs. Elsie Proctor. He was a retiree from Griffen Pipe, Company, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He became a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church, Goode, Virginia, at an early age. He was Chairman of the Deacon Board, served on the Trustee Board and Senior Choir. He was faithful to his church and coummunity.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a loving and devoted wife; Marie Inez Wright, three sons; James Wright,Jr.,of Waldrof, Maryland, Raymond Wright, of Columbia, Maryland, Mark Wright, of Roanoke, Virginia, one daughter; Shelia Brown, of Forest, Virginia, two daughters-in-law; Pamela Wright and Janice Wright, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three aunts; Mrs Julia Harris, of Washington, D.C., Mrs Verlie Thompson, of Bedford, Virginia, Mattie Wright, of Forest, Virginia
