Charles Coppedge (Coppage) was the son of William Coppedge (Coppage) and Anne Knight. He was married to Lucy Sarah Lunsford about 1735 in Northumberland County, Virginia. They were the parents of Moses Aaron Coppedge (Coppage) and at leat 8 other children. This lineage and marriage is documented by National Society of Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century. His land grants are in Book 4, pg 80, Virginia Archives . A reputable source on this Coppedge family is "Coppage-Coppedge Chronicle 1542- 1975, pg 143. He married Lucy Sarah Lunsford, daughter of John Lunsford. He is named in the Will of his father William Coppedge, a Planter. That Will was proved in 1700, in which he and each of his brothers received seperate plantations. He is believed to be buried at the historic Wicomico Church Cemetery, the church attended most of the family and where many other Coppedge- Coppage kin are buried. No headstone has yet been located for him. Some of the older gravestones are no longer legible or intact due to age and exposure to the elements. It is assumed his grave is one that is now unmarked.

Charles Coppedge was born ~1687 in Wicomico Parish, Northumberland County, VA and died in 1750 in Wicomico Parish, Northumberland County, VA. He married Lucy Sarah Lunsford in 1716 and had the following children:
a. Suzy Coppedge
b. William Coppedge was born in 1727, married Sarah Robinson, and died in 1766.
c. Charles Coppedge was born in 1729 in Virginia and died in 1786 in Virginia.
d. Mary Coppedge was born in 1731 and married Swan Prichard
e. Lucy Coppedge was born in 1733.
f. Moses Aaron Coppedge was born in 1735 in Wicomico Parish, Northumberland, VA, married Mary Jane Catlett in 1764 in Prince William, VA, and died in 1801 in Marion, KY.
g. Issac Coppedge was born in 1737 in Wicominco Parish, Northumberland, VA and died in 1807.
