Obituary Sterling Daily Gazette Tuesday, May 23, 1961


Funeral services are complete at the Allen Funeral Home for John Peter Dimmers of 909 W. 6th St, Sterling, who passed away at his home Monday morning.

He was born March 4, 1896 in New Market, Minn, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John (Theresia Schmitz) Dimmers. He was in the Navy in World War II, was a member of the Rock River Lodge 612 AF and AM, the Eagles of Sterling and the VFW Lodge. he was employed at the Sterling Foundry as a coreroom foreman since 1947.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Ida Freberg Falk,
one son, Rollo, of White Bear Lake, Minn; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Arlene) Flittner of Thousand Oaks, Calif; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Kloeckner of New Richmond, Wis., Mrs. Lena Kunz of St. Paul, Minn., and Miss Christine Dimmers (sic) of Prior Lake., Minn.; five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. David McCleary of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating with burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.

Funeral Notice Sterling Daily Gazette Tuesday May 23, 1961

Funeral services for John P. Dimmers of 909 West 6th St., Sterling, were conducted in the Allen Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. David McCleary assistant pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Roscoe Eades was organist, and flowers were cared for by Lundstroms truck.

Pallbearers were all fellow workers from the Sterling Foundry, Donald Smith, Ted Sayre, Ray Fehler, Frank Reid John Shierry and Wilbur Smith.

The Sterling VFW conducted military rites at the grave.
