He is buried at Peter's Town Cemetery with Sophronia Adcock-Armistead, his paternal grandmother. Info on stone said George N. Armistead son of J.J. & M.L. Armistead Born Sept. 25, 1901, died October 17, 1902. The inscription on the tombstone says, "Sleep on , sleep babe and take thy rest. God called thee home, he thought it best."
