Emigrated to America at age 18. Attracted to mining, he went to the Black Hills of South Dakota, then to Colorado ending up in Montana, where he married Yetta Silverman, daughter of an old pioneer of Montana. He was developing the Eureka mine in Wallace, Idaho at the time of his death. Four children. First victim retrieved from the Wellington Avalanche Disaster.
