He was a veteran of World War 2 and earned a Bronze Star during service in Germany. Since the death of his father in 1963, he has operated the Franklin A. Adams and Son insurance agency here.

He was a member of Christ Cathedral, the Episcopal Vestry, SAE fraternity, the Salina Public Library board, which he had served as chairman, and the Salina Insurance board.

Surviving are the widow, Katrina S., 3 daughters, twins Mary Emily and Elizabeth Ann, and Catherine Jane, all of the home, his mother, Mrs. Franklin Adams sr., 127 Overhill Road, and a brother, George, Tulsa, Okla.

The family suggests memorials to the Pathfinder House, Salina.
