Charles W. Adams
Charles W. Adams, 71, Salina, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at Salina Regional Health Center.
Mr. Adams was born Dec. 5, 1928, at McCaysville, Ga., and was a Salina resident since 1972, moving from Izmir, Turkey. He was a 27-year veteran of the Army, serving in France, Japan, Germany, and the Dominican Republic and the United States, retiring in 1972 as a Sergeant First Class. He also taught communications at Fort Monmouth, N.J. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Salina.
Survivors include his wife, Delpha of the Bethany hoe, Lindsborg; a son, Greg of Salina; two daughters, Candis Diaz of Assaria and Joanne Bowden of Salina; his mother, Anne Adams of Blue Ridge, Ga,; a brother, Robert of McCaysville, Ga,; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, the Rev. Glenn Davis officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, with military rites by Fort Riley.
Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 127 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
