CHARLES EUGENE BARNHART, 46, of Rt. 3, died Thursday at Washington County Hospital after an illness of two weeks.
He was born in Antrim Township, Pa., a son of Mrs. Clara M. Spangler Barnhart of Greencastle and the late Clarence E. Barnhart.
He was a member of Greencastle Church of the Brethren and was a former member of the board of trustees of the church. He was a veteran of World War II and had been employed as a supervisor at Grove Manufacturing Co. in Shady Grove.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. A. Lorraine Fahrney Barnhart; the following children: Mrs. John Hykes of Rt. 1, Greencastle, Barry F. Barnhart of Waynesboro, Pa., Mrs. Randall Koontz, Mrs. Joe Barnhart and Mrs. Jay Hafer, all of Greencastle, Michael L., Randy J., Joe R. and Julie K. Barnhart, all at home; four grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Harry V. Stotler of Rt. 4, Greencastle, Mrs. Wayne Murray of Rt. 5, Chambersburg, Pa., Mrs. Charles Oberholzer of Rt. 3, Greencastle, Mrs. Gerald Sheffler of Rt. 4. Greencastle; brother, Robert M. Barnhart of Rt. 4, Greencastle.
Services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Greencastle Church of the Brethren. The Rev. J. Richard Gottshall and the Rev. Dr. George L. Deetweiler will officiate:; burial in Grindstone Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Minnich-Miller Funeral Home in Greencastle this evening from 7 to 9, and at the church one hour prior to the time of services.
