John and his wife remained in Wilkes-Barre for about 35 years, where he made his living as a Stone Mason. In the early 1900's, John and his wife removed to Hammond, Lake County, Indiana, where they resided with their married daughter, Magdalena Knoerzer(wife of Thomas Knoerzer).
John departed this life at 75 years of age at the Knoerzer Family homestead in Hammond.
