This is a memorial to my great great grandfather. He was the second of three sons. His mother was named Mary and was possibly born about 1830 or 1835, and was possibly Cherokee and/or African American. His father was possibly named Robert Ovell, and was a Confederate captain (also born during the 1830's). He married Della Taylor about 1877 and had 6 children with her. He worked as a cooper, and lived most of his life in Fayetteville. According to the 1900 census, he and his family briefly lived in the Augusta, Georgia area, where he also worked as a cooper. He died shortly after his 55th birthday.
