"Mrs Emma T Smith, 78, of Spartansburg, Route 3, died last evening in Corry Memorial Hospital following an illness of four and one-half months. She was a long-time resident of the Spartansburg area and was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Fowler (sic) [Philo] Tobias. Surviving are her husband, Clinton A Smith; a son, Carl C Smith of Spartansburg, Route 3; twin daughters, Mrs Leta Dooher of Kane and Mrs Lena Jones of Spartansburg, Route 3; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Nina Williams of Waterford; two brothers, Marion Tobias of St Petersburg, Fla, and Harry Tobias of Garrettsville, O. Friends may call anytime at the Torrey and Hays funeral home in Spartansburg. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with interment in Rose Hill cemetery, Spartansburg."
