Rev. K. William Bowler was born on July 12, 1926 in Lockport, New York. He studied to become a minister with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) at Nyack College in Nyack, New York. In 1952, he married Wilma Louise Barnes and became ordained as a minister with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). He pastored three churches in Ilian, Medina, and Greene, New York. Between 1953 and 1960 all four of his children, Susan, Douglas, Gordon, and Daniel were born. In 1975, Rev. Bowler and his family moved down to Baltimore, Maryland, where he took a job pastoring a church on Walker Avenue. January 1986, he left Walker Avenue Alliance Church, and was subsequently offered a position as an assistant pastor at Calvary Tabernacle in Baltimore, by his close friend, the late Rev. Leonard M. Blight, Jr. In 2000, he was diagnosed with lymphoma. He remained as assistant to Rev. Blight at Calvary Tabernacle until his death on July 29, 2001. He was survived by his wife, Wilma (passed away 4/19/06), sister Linda Ander of Montgomery, Alabama, all four children, and two grandchildren.
