Mrs. Nancy Cupples
Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Cupples, 93, died Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. after a lengthy illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M.A. Granger, 37 North Street, Bemis, with whom she was making her home.
She was the widow of Ruben C. Cupples who preceded her in death in 1942.
She was born and raised in Chester County and educated in the county schools there. She moved to Jackson in 1929 from Chester County and had made her home there since that time.
Mrs. Cupples was a member of the New Home Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cave Springs Baptist Church in Chester County with the Rev. J M. Geary and the Rev. Floyd Dennison officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery with Griffin Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two sons. Cloyd Cupples of Bemis and James E. Cupples of Memphis; four daughters, Mrs. Granger, Mrs. W. A. Martin, Mrs. W. H. Martin, all of Bemis, and Mrs. Edgar Patterson of Henderson; a brother, A. F. Smith of Henderson; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The following pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. Friday: Howard Jernigan, Slater Knott, J. H. Harper, Johnny Mitchell, Albert Brown, and Harvey Kirk.
