Angus "Scotty" Cameron
Birth: Nov. 5, 1921
Prince Albert
Saskatchewan, Canada
Death: Apr. 12, 1993
Alberta, Canada

Professional Hockey Player. Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, he played his early hockey in Regina (1938 to 1941). In 1942-1943 he was in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers. A small controversy emerged after he joined the Canadian Air Force when Lionel Conacher apparently went back on his promise to assign Cameron to an Air Force team in Saskatoon but instead sent him to the Montreal RCAF (1942 to 1944) as a favor to Montreal Forum manager Tommy Gorman. After his military service, he returned to play in the Minor Leagues. After his hockey career he turned into a top amateur golfer and it was after a driving practice round on April 12, 1993, that he suddenly passed away. Cameron's death notice indicated that he was cremated. (bio by: 1weasel)
