Alfred C. Glaze was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Henry and Lydia Glaze. Brother of Dorothy, Norman, Dennis, Stan and Howard. Glaze attended Rawlinson Public School and East York Memorial. Alfred was a member of the Toronto Telegram editorial staff at the time of his enlistment in August 1941. He transferred to the Tank Corps and was with that unit until March 1944. Glaze transferred to the Irish Regiment of Canada. He was with that unit in Holland at the time of his death.
Alfred C. Glaze was a member of Grace Church on-the-Hill, Toronto, and is on its Honour Roll 1939-45.

Great Uncle Alf, although I didn't get to meet you, my dad has told me so much about you. After all these years, Dad is on his way to Holland in September 2015 to pay his respects at your grave. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. RIP great uncle Alf.|
