Sam Paul Anton, 81, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 28, 2016.
Sam was a native Houstonian, a graduate of San Jacinto High School and the son of a Greek immigrant. He was trained as a butcher and was the beloved owner of Blodgett Food Market in the Third Ward and later, Lunch at Sam's restaurant on North Gessner. He was honored to serve as a deacon at Spring Woods Baptist Church.
"Papou" will be missed dearly by his wife of 61 years, Nancy; their son, Steve Anton, and his wife, Donna, and their children, Max, Eli and Abby; their son, David Anton, and his wife, Bambi, and their children, Mica and Bryce; and Mica's husband, Chris Nix, and their children, Trinity, Mylee, Kennady and Maverick.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 3, at Spring Woods Baptist Church, 10131 Emnora Lane, 77080.
Sam lived to be 81 years, 9 months and 8 days old.
