The funeral for Nellie Blanche Rackley, 82, Alva, formerly of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evangel Assembly of God Church. Lester Lowry, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Haskell to Benjamin Franklin and Alice Jane Honea Jackson and died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, in Alva.
She grew up and attended school in Haskell and also attended Eram High School. She married Clarence Rackley June 16, 1946, in Boynton. They moved to Covington in 1946 and then to Enid in 1948. She worked as a waitress at Wagon Wheel Restaurant and at Boston Fountain at the newspaper company. She also worked for TG&Y, Enid State School, Woolworths and Wal-Mart. At Wal-Mart she managed the greeting card section and later the hardware and pet departments. She was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church. In 2006, they moved to Share Convalescent Home in Alva.
Surviving are her husband, Clarence, of the home; three daughters, Joyce Garvie of Alva, Marilyn Rackley of Enid and Kay Huddleton of Tupman, Calif.; one sister, Erma Jones of Tulsa; and one brother, Jess Jackson of Muskogee.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two half sisters.
