Josephine McLaughlin Alexander of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Norborne, Missouri, passed away at her home on July 3, 2006.
Josephine was born August 25, 1918, in Carrollton, Missouri, to John and Rose Hoffman McLaughlin. She leaves behind her loving husband, Jack, of their home, one son, John Robert Alexander and wife Betty, one daughter, Kathy Csizma of Centerville, Ohio, one granddaughter, Courtney Csizma, one living sister, Gladys Moloski of Shawnee, Kansas, two sisters-in-law, Dorothy McLaughlin, Kansas City, Erlene McLaughlin, Lexington, Missouri, several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Josephine attended grade school in Carrollton and graduated from Norborne High School. After graduating, Josephine taught at a country school north of Norborne for one year. In 1939, she married Edgar W. "Jack" Alexander at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. They then moved to Ohio. After moving to Ohio, Josephine was a substitute teacher. She then worked at the National Cash Register Company until 1945. She also worked at the Monsanto Company for twenty-seven years as a technician.
Josephine was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by many friends and family.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 8, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, Missouri, in memory of Mrs. Alexander. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633. (As printed in The Carrollton Democrat, July 7, 2006)
