He was born June 9, 1920 in Trauger, PA, a son of Steve and Anne (Murray) Babyak.
John was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Coral; Coral Graceton Sportsman Club; and Branch 484 of the First Catholic Slovak Union.
He retired from the coal mines and was a janitor at the former St. Francis Church, Coral, for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mae Cecil (Woods) Babyak; and brothers, Andrew, Steve and Joseph Babyak.
