"Obituary: (Taken from a hand written original by Joyce Lorraine Clore Elkins.) CLARENCE R. ELKINS died: October 06, 1927. Again the Heavenly Father has visited our home and claimed our only son, whose life was short, but in that short time his loving babyish, ways found their way into the hearts of all who knew him. Clarence R. Elkins, baby son of Samuel and Gladys Elkins, was born, December 17, 1926 and departed for his Heavenly home, October 06, 1927 age 9 mo and 19 days. Although several days of Clarence's short life was spent in illness, he had a smile for those he met to the last. His last hours were spent in the Riley Hospital. ___Clarence leaves behind his father and mother, three sisters, Dorotha, Vera, and Helen, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, two uncles and one aunt, Mrs. Hanna D__________and a host of other dear relatives and dear friends who will miss his cunning ways. "Life is left to God Will bring a greater yield Of golden harvest and of repined field Than all the weary plannings of thy soul Can force to be, or strength_______________-good from all _____________
life to God." The original is in the Elkins Family Volumes II, and was probably written in the 1970's and is not in the best of shape for safe keeping. The lines indicate where either words or letters are missing. [Transcribed by, SLJuhl, compiler & niece, 14 Jan 2005].

NOTE FROM JOYCE ELKINS TO HER DAUGHTER SANDRA: c.03 Aug. 1977 A.D. " Clarence Richard lived nine months and nineteen days. He died of Broncho-Pneumonia at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. He is buried at Wolf Creek Cemetery, at Grange Corner, South of Wallace, Indiana."
