Johann Georg "George" Waag moved to America in 1852. He travelled on the ship "Asabella" which departed from Le Havre, France and arrived NY harbor on 9 Aug 1852. In 1859 he is listed in the Greenport, Suffolk Co., NY city directory. Later records also from Greenport list his occupation as tailor.
Two siblings also emigrated to the USA:
- Johann Friedrich "John F." Waag, *25 May 1832 in Diersheim. He lived and had family in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh, Wisconsin
- Catharina "Kate" Waag, *9 Aug 1837 in Diersheim, travelled in 1853 with the family of her uncle Michael Haag IV from Diersheim, Baden, lived in Calumet, Fond du Lac County WI, married Franz "Frank" Schussmann.
