John "Jack" served in the Navy during World War II. He began his family in Grand Rapids where his first two children were born, Jack Jr. and Paul. He moved his family to Michigan City, Indiana in 1954 to be in the center of his business region. Jack was part owner of a hardwoods company. He tacked many hundreds of thousands of miles in his favorite Buick Electra 225. He and Ginny had two more boys, David and Dan who grew up in Michigan City. Jack loved boating and fishing on Lake Michigan. He suffered from an eczema and breathing difficulties that shortened his life. He and Ginny owned a travel home and went site seeing in his final years. His remains were cast into Lake Michigan at his beloved Stop 20.
