Michael Lane Billings, 45 passes away Thursday February 17, 2011 at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He was born April 29, 1965 in North Wilkesboro, NC a son of H. Morris and Barbara Carol Bauguss Billings.
Michael was a 1983 graduate of Myrtle Beach High School where he played football and his teams at Myrtle Beach won 3 of 4 State Championships from 1980-1983. He attended Newberry College for two years after he finished high school. He was extremely passionate about racing, even having the same birthday as his racing hero, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved restoring, repairing and even making and building cars and car parts. He could make or fix just about anything and worked for both Petty Racing and Bud Moore Racing and worked directly with Geoff Bodine.
Survivors include his parents of Myrtle Beach, SC; two brothers, Mark Billings and his wife, Tammy and Randy Billings and his fiancée, Tori all of Myrtle Beach and five nieces, Brittney Todd, Ali Todd, Skylar Billings, Alexis Billings and Cadence Billings.
The family will receive friends on Sunday February 20, 2011 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 PM.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday February 21, 2011 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. J. Kirk Lawton, Jr. presiding.
