Paul was the son of Peter and Josephine (Boeckmann) Bach. he married Irma Stein 13 September 1943 at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle.
In addition to his wife, Irma, Mr Bach is survived by six children, Pat and Gary Herrin of Kell, Dennis Bach of Belleville, Sandra Bach of Ruskin, Florida, Ken and JoAnn Bach of Makanda, Kevin Bach of Cobden, and Duane and Betty Bach of Carlyle, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
Paul entered the U.S.Army on 29 April 1943 and was in Company B, 141st Infantry, 36th Division. He fought in the North African Campaign. He received a Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster and a Bronze Star.
Paul was a farmer in the Carlyle area and retired from Scott Air Force Base after twenty two years of employment.
