Ruth was the daughter of the late William and Nellie Phillips Richards & granddaughter of Edna Sheldon & James Wellford "Will" Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two sisters, and a grandson.
She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Ruth was an avid and faithful reader of the Bible and maintained a strong faith in God.
She is survived by her six children: Larry (Carol) Kirtley of Sherrodsville, Diana O'Donohue of Tuscarawas, Mrs. Tony (Adele) Upton of South Haven, Miss., Stephen Kirtley of Wooster, Bonnie Kirtley of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Mrs. Fred (Melanie) Pagniano of Dover; and sister, Edith Hamsher of Dover. Eighteen grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren complete the family.
In accordance with her wishes and true to her unselfish nature, her body has been donated to the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine at Athens.
