Lindsey Akers, a wealthy farmer and stock dealer who lived in the vicinity of Hart's Mill (now Friendship), died very suddenly last Thursday. Mr. Akers was on horseback and had been looking over his farm. He met Dr. Barkley, and, after a short conversation with that gentleman, started to ride off, but before he had proceeded any distance, he uttered a cry of pain and fell from his horse, dead. The coroner was immediately summoned and returned a verdict of death by apoplexy. Mr. Akers was well known in this city where he had many friends, all of whom were greatly shocked to hear of his sudden taking off.
