Vivian Marguerite Payne was born 17 Oct 1912 in Argusville, Cass Co., MN to Sidney Payne and Marguerite Percy. She worked on her parents farm until she married Howard Burton McDonald on 4 Jan 1934 in Moorhead, MN. They farmed at Gardner and owned and operated Mac's Place. Howard died 11 Jul 1958. Vivian married Ole A. Anderson in March of 1959 in Moorhead, MN and they farmed at Gardner until retiring to town in 1972. They had lived in West Fargo since 1977. Vivian and Ole were killed 6 Oct 1980 when the car they were driving near Rustad, MN collided with a semi-truck at the intersection of Minnesota County Rd. 8 and Highway 75.
Survivors include 4 sons, Kirk McDonald, Buffalo, ND, Robert McDonald, Seattle, WA, Don McDonald, Moorhead, MN, and Hal McDonald, of West Fargo; a brother, Orville Payne, Argusville; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
