Services for Billie Sue Blower, 67 of Tahlequah were held Monday June 4, 2001, at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Virgil Holcomb officiating. Interment followed in the Echota Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Pallbearers included Ray Lee Garner, Terry Oosahwee, David Jones, Stanley Jones, Preston Oosahwee and Anthony Young.
Billie Sue Blower was born Oct, 21, 1933, in Claremore
Okla, the daughter of Stand and MacBell (Hogner) Bearpaw, and she died on Friday, June 1, 2001, at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
She grew up in the Barber community, attending Barber School and graduating from Cave Springs High School. On April 18, 1960, she married Ray Blower in Bartlesville. They moved to Berkley, Calif., where they lived until her return to Tahlequah in 1975.
She was a nurses' aide at Go Ye Village and retired in December 2000. She was a member of the Tahlequah Indian Baptist Church.
Mrs. Blower was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1974; two brothers, Charles and A.G. Bearpaw; and one great grandson Brett Lee Dallis Garner.
Among those she leaves behind are two daughters, Debra (Willard) Oosahwee and Connie Sue Blower, both of Tahlequah; two sisters, Kathleen (Charles) Young of Humboldt, Kans., and Virginia (Raymond) Jones of Tahlequah: one brother, Dennis (Louise) Bearpaw of Tahlequah; four grandchildren. Ray Lee Garner, Preston Oosahwee, Rachel Mae Blower and Keli.
