Randolph T. Andersen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend passed away Wednesday night, January 31, 2007 while on his way to give his grandson, Andy, a blessing.

He found the most joy in playing with his grandkids, backpacking in the Uintas, discussing politics, studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and spending time with his family. Randy was a devoted servant of the Lord. He served an honorable full-time mission for the LDS Church in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 1966-1968. He graduated from BYU with a BA in Art. In August of 1971, Randy was sealed for time and all eternity to his "sweetie", Sylvia Christina Gawryla in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. His children never doubted that he loved their mother. Randy loved the gospel all of his life and served in various callings including twice as branch president, temple worker, counselor in the bishopric, high councilman, gospel doctrine and seminary teacher. He was able to fulfill his goal of working for the LDS Church and very much enjoyed his associations there. We will miss his leaderships and counsel, his sense of humor and adventurous spirit, his integrity and commitment to the truth. Dad's ingenuity, ability to improve or fix anything, his knowledge of the world and his bad jokes, were all qualities admired by his family. He is dearly loved and will be missed.

Survivors: wife, Sylvia, Draper; children, Christina Shulze, Longmont, Angelisa Andersen, Salt Lake City; Kai Andersen, Draper; Rivka Soffe, Kip Andersen, Claire Wilson, Franz Andersen, grandchildren, Bennett Elliott, Sylvia Shulze; Caleb, Andy, Nathan Wilson; Gabriel Soffe; mother, Margaret Andersen; brothers and sisters, Maren Turnidge, Aleta Taylor, Orrin Andersen, Chuck Andersen, Mapleton; brother-in-law, Walter Gawryla, also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Kay Andersen. Funeral services were held Monday, February 5, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Draper 7th LDS Ward Chapel.
