CHAMBERSBURG -- John E. Adelmann, 82, formerly of Port Chester, N.Y., died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Menno Haven Nursing Home, Chambersburg.
Born Feb. 27, 1921, in the Bronx, N.Y., he was a son of the late Hans and Alda Adelmann.
Mr. Adelmann attended First Lutheran Church of Chambersburg.
As a boy in New York, he was active in Cub and Boy Scouts. He was also an Army veteran of World War II and later retired as president of Adelmann Ham Boiler Corp. and Port Chester Aluminum Foundry in Byram, Conn.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Georgiana Scheubner Adelmann of Menno Haven Nursing Home; two sons, John of Peosta, Iowa, and Peter of Biglerville; and a granddaughter, Carolyn Adelmann of Biglerville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter.
Service will be private.
