Henry B. Adam, 82, of Lodi died Wednesday in a local convalescent hospital after an extended illness. A native of Gackel, N.D., Mr. Adam settled in Lodi in May 1946.

He worked for the Eastside Winery from 1946 to 1952. Mr. Adam retired in 1977 after 25 years with Del Monte Cannery. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in the church ministry, including the Happy Timers and serving as an usher and contribing to the church newsletter. Mr. Adam also was a member of the Senior Citizens Club, Fifty Plus Club and the Dakota Club. He was married for 57 years.

Survivors: wife, Salma Adam of Lodi; daughter, Janet D. Hutley of Lodi; and four grandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant St. Visitation: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home.
