Ethel Pennison Accardo, 74, a native of Patterson and a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009, at her residence following complications of renal kidney failure.

Ethel is survived by her beloved son, Craig Gerard Accardo of Orlando, FL; and numerous relatives.

She was preceded in death by her best friend and loving husband of over 50 years of marriage, Jack Anthony Accardo; her father, Lester A. Pennison; her mother, Ethel Breaux Pennison; her paternal grandfather, August A. Pennison; her paternal grandmother, Angeline Daigle Pennison; her maternal grandfather, Frank J. Breaux; and her maternal grandmother, Lydia Braud Breaux.

Ethel was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Church, a Notary Public, in and for St. Mary Parish, State of Louisiana, and was a member of St. Mary AARP.

Ethel worked in an automotive dealership for most of her working years as an accountant and business manager. She was a past member of the General Motors Council of Business Managers, St. Bernadette Parish Council, and St. Bernadette Ladies Altar Society. She will be greatly missed.

Join her family and friends to honor and celebrate her life on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visiting will continue on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson at 9 a.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Louis Lam Vu officiating. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Patterson.
