Birth: Feb. 4, 1928
Georgia, USA
Death: Mar. 21, 2009
Delaware County
Pennsylvania, USA

The oldest of three children, was born in Dorun, Georgia to the late Leroy and Bessie Parker. She departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at home with her family present. Lois came to Chester at the young age of twelve in 1943 and attended Chester Public Schools. Lois worked at the mushroom factory in the early 1950's; however, she soon stopped to take care of her mother. Lois met and married Odell Alexander in 1955. She then became a housewife. In 1964, her youngest sister died leaving behind six children. Lois raised two of them and actively stayed in the rest of their lives along with her sister who had the other four children. The church was always a focal point in Lois' life. She joined Murphy A.M.E. Church in 1946 and was an active member for sixty-three years. Lois worked diligently in serving God through church activities whenever she could. Within the community, Lois was loved by all whom she encountered. She, in turn, loved everyone. Lois inherited a lot of nieces and nephews who were quick to adopt her as an aunt and to this day call her "Aunt Lois." Lois was a very good cook and was famous for her homemade biscuits and corn bread. Lois not only embodied the ideals of devotion, commitment, caring, dependability, sacrifice, unselfishness, and love but she practiced them on a daily basis as evidenced by those acts of kindness which truly made a impact on others. Lois leaves to cherish many special memories: her children, Letha Parker (John), Myrtice Womack (Brian), Alma Willis (Ernest, Sr.), Lois Nicholson (Johnny), Chrisisy Swiggett, Stanford Swiggett, all of Chester, Pennsylvania, James Swiggett (Kim) of Delaware, Anthony and Charles Swiggett both ofChester; brother, John Munn, Sr. (Judy) of Claymont, Delaware; sisters, Isola Brown and Myrtice Parker both of Chester; special niece and nephew, Shirley and Joseph; one aunt, Doris Parker Cheers; a special friend, Mary Locke Bishop; 38 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings Irene Parker Swiggett and John Parker, Sr.; children, Walter Swiggett and Renee Parker.
