Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Mamie Yearwood Clewis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla, a homemaker and the widow of Loren C. Barron. Mrs. Barron was a loving mother devoted to her children and was loved by her many friends. -Survivors: son, George M. "Pete" Fowler of Williamsburg, VA; daughters, Doris Black of Valdosta; Lorene Carter of Ocala, FL; Kay Moncrief of Moultrie; Jane Lawhorn of Perry; Sibbie Parrottino of Lebanon, TN; sister, Doris Dolph of Unadilla; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
