Animals can speak right to our hearts without saying a word.

Before humans die, they write their last will and testament, giving their home and all that they have to those they leave behind. If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I'd ask...

To a poor and lonely stray I'd give my happy home, my bowl, and cozy bed, soft pillow and all my toys, the lap, which I loved so much, the hand that stroked my fur, and the sweet voice that spoke my name.

I'd will to the sad, scared shelter dog the place I had in my human's loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.

So, when I die, please do not say, "I will never have a pet again, for the loss and the pain is more then I can stand".

Instead, go find an unloved dog, one whose life has held no joy, or hope, and give my place to him.

This is the only thing I can give...
The love I left behind.

Shiloh came to us as a three month old flea bitten fur ball. At the first visit to the vet we were told she had hip dysplasia, and we would have to probably put her down within the year. But Shiloh was so active, she worked her muscles so strong, that she truly had a good life for thirteen years. The last year she was sore and then ended up with cancer, and was put down to end her pain.
Shiloh was such a special dog in many ways. She had many nicknames, BarkO was one. I guess you can guess why. My last dog, Rusty, had been the best dog in the world, and losing him was the worse thing I ever went through. I tried not to love this Shiloh as much, so it wouldn't hurt as much when I lost her, like with Rusty, but it didn't work. Shiloh was a awesome dog as well. Smarter than Rusty in many ways, she knew all the tricks but was just downright stubborn, with ADHD, to do them. She always won the pillow on the bed, refused to come when you called her, and left her dog hair everywhere. She could talk though, she could tell you anything she wanted, which was mostly food and attention. She could say the word "out". She loved to chase the rain, dig holes, and bark till her barker got hoarse. She would rake the carpet when she would lay down (found many bald spots). She seem to hate cats, yet once in awhile she would go nose to nose with one, without growling, barking or biting. She loved catching balls, chasing balls, and making trails looking for moles in the yard. She was one dog (unlike Rusty) that wasn't really wanted on our trips away from home. One time she dug up my brother's neighbor's roses. She would jump on people, so excited to meet and greet. Sometimes she was truly a pain. I used to say, I went from the very best dog in the world to the very worse dog in the world. She loved her ears rubbed, inside and out. She was one of the softest dogs I ever touched, and had such beautiful markings. She loved everyone and even though I didn't like to admit it, she was a good dog. I used to call her ugly and a pain in the rear sometimes, because she had a long way to go, to be the dog Rusty was. I was hard on her, but no matter what I said or did, she still loved me, and was truly a girl's best friend. I don't know about Heaven for dogs, but if there is one, she will be well taken care of by my other dog, Rusty. I think they will make beautiful puppies...
I love you Shiloh.. and miss you very much.

The Rainbow Bridge - YouTube

The whistle a blown' in the distance.
It's calling' to me my friend,
and I gotta leave you now.
but o'er my shoulder
I give you one last glance.
One last promise, before I go.
I will see you again.
Where the tracts meet the
Rainbow Bridge to heaven.
I'll be waiting.
I promise.
For you.

Saw your puppy video tonight... you were so cute, and so good. Such a sweet puppy that grew up to be a fine dog. I hope you and Rusty wait to have puppies till I get there... Until then keep my family entertained and Rusty company. I love you.

One gift, above all others God gives to us to treasure one that knows no time, no place and one gold cannot measure. The precious, poignant, tender gift of Memory ~ that will keep our dear ones ever in our hearts although God gives them sleep. It brings b...(Read more)
