Lucile Wheeler "Posey" Rutty, 95, passed away at home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Odell N. Rutty.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Ralph Roark; 2 grandchildren, Jeanne Tillinghast and Charles Roark; and 2 great-grandchildren, Brett and Brittany Tillinghast, all of No. Stonington. She was predeceased by her siblings, Nelson Wheeler and Louise Wheeler.


She was a loved and respected school teacher, first at the former Broadway School in Mystic and later in the Stonington School System.


She enjoyed her family and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, the Historical Society, garden club, and the Audobon Society.


Her funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church, Pendleton Hill Road, No. Stonington of Friday at 11am. Private burial will follow.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church.
