LAMBERTVILLE - Stanley J. Antkowiak, 73, of 2839 Thunderbird Trail died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday in Mercy Hospital, Toledo. A Lambertville resident for 14 years, he had been ill with a heart ailment for six months.
Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Bedford Chapel, Temperance, where a rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Toledo. The Rev. Gerald Nowakowski will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo.
The son of George and Anna (Snieczinski) Antkowiak, he was born Nov. 11, 1906, in Toledo. He married Helen Wesolowski May 8, 1936, in Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was employed for 25 years at Kaiser Jeep Corp. and retired as supervisor in 1971 from Owen-Illinois Inc. where he had been employed for 27 years.
He was a member of the St. Anthony's Church Holy Name Society, the National Rifle Association and Local 12, United Auto Workers, Toledo. He was a member of the Owen-Illinois Club and received the golden emblem award for retired persons.
Mr. Antkowiak is survived by his wife; a son, Edmund of Lambertville; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Suzanne) Kilmczak of Toledo; 2 brothers, John and Anthony, both of Toledo and 2 grandchildren.
