Harvey Clay Clark was the son of Edward Porter Clark and Ida May Chiles Clark of Giles County, Tennessee. Harvey's mother died shortly after his younger sister Fanny Mae in 1904. Harvey married Marie Louise Howard, daughter of Frank and Callie Spencer Howard of Waxahachie, Texas. Harvey and Louise had one child, a daughter, Betty Lou Clark of Waxahachie. Harvey worked in the steel mills in New York for a time and then became a commercial fisherman. His brother Edwin Porter Clark and he worked the business in the Gulf Coast of Texas. "Daddy Clark", as we affecionately called him, would always caution us when we'd go to play at Padre Island. "Watch out for the undertow", he'd say. He was greatly loved. Harvey died on my birthday and I will always remember him with much love. I still have the first teddy bear I ever received..it was from my "Daddy Clark". With love, Gloria Jeanne
