Lucian P. Baranoski, 89, of Lovely Street, Avon, husband of the late Mary (Piascik) Baranoski, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1996) at Brightview Convalescent Home, Avon. He was born April 12, 1906 in New Britain, son of the late Stanley and Lottie (Wisniewski) Baranoski, and had lived in Avon for the past 60 years.
Mr. Baranoski owned and operated Lucian's Dry Goods in Avon for 21 years prior to his retirement. He had also owned and operated a Shell service station in Avon for many years. He was a member of St. Ann's Church, Avon, the Seniors of Avon, a charter member of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department since 1943, where he served as chief in the early 1950's, and a member of the Fire Police.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joann Baranoski of Enfield; two sisters, Dorothy Winchell of New Britain, and Clara Sarnoski of Farmington; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kenneth and Lynne Baranoski of South Windsor, Mary Ellen and Richard Shea of Windsor; several nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral will be Tuesday (Feb. 13), 9:15 a.m., from the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St. Ann's Church, Avon. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avon. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, Monday, 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Avon Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 735, Avon 06001.
